Discipleship Pastor Search
First Baptist Church Statesboro is seeking a Discipleship Pastor to provide overall leadership of the church’s disciple-making strategy. For the past three years, the congregation has journeyed through a visioning process, led by Dr. George Bullard, which clarified and confirmed God’s call to prioritize disciple-making. As a result, the church created the role of Discipleship Pastor to supply experienced pastoral leadership for aligning all events, programs, and efforts into disciple-making.
More than directing programs, the Discipleship Pastor will focus on equipping members to fulfill the church’s vision of disciple-making. Taking a “cradle to the grave” approach, the Discipleship Pastor will touch the spiritual health of every age group in the church. He will supervise the work of three full-time age-level ministers to coordinate their programs as part of a multigenerational spiritual growth process. He will report directly to the Lead Pastor and be a member of the executive staff (Lead Team) structure.
Historically averaging 1,200+ in worship, First Baptist Church Statesboro is a congregation of approximately 3,000 members with an annual operating budget exceeding $3,000,000. Statesboro is home to Georgia Southern University and located along a growth corridor extending from the greater Savannah and coastal Georgia region.
